Dear Urban Collective Family,

I would first like to start by saying thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support your have continued to provide over the past several months with all the recruitment efforts!

As many of you know, our mentor Dr. Lila Jacobs worked very hard over the years to implement and sustain the unique integrity of the program.

When we received the news from the University that program applications were due early, we had to immediately develop a strategy to ensure that we preserve the Urban Leadership Program. As a collective group, we pulled together and made sure we supported this year’s recruitment efforts.

Each recruitment session was unique: Some sessions had as many as 20 plus attendees and others had as low as one attendee. Nonetheless, each session included Urban Graduates and Faculty, demonstrating their commitment and support for the program. For that am I am greatly appreciative.

At this point, I am confident we have enough individuals that are AWARE of the Urban Leadership Program. BUT this is not enough! We still have more work to do….We need individuals to submit their completed application packets, ASAP!

For next steps:

To continue the legacy of the Urban Leadership Program, I request for the collective to follow-up personally with the individual(s) that you recommended to the program, and guide them with turning their AWARENESS into ACTION.

KNOWING is not enough—Let’s pull together again: As leaders, let’s continue passing the knowledge we have gained.
